So sometime in the middle of October the company had a birthday party to celebrate all of the birthdays in October. It was quite the Chinese culture injection. It was well organized with a slideshow of the time the staff spent at a team building camp in September. When it came time to cut the cake (after singing happy birthday in Chinese), each person gave a speech about how grateful they are to be in the company and to have everyone to celebrate it with (or something to that effect, they speak wayyyy too fast for me fully understand).  After the cake was cut, we all had a toast. This is where I learned that a lot of Chinese business revolves around drinking. Supposedly, the big bosses are supposed to be able to down huge amounts of alcohol... Anyways, there were a couple of cultural nuances I had to pay attention to when going around meeting people, like depending on your social status when doing cheers with someone the glasses would be either higher or lower than the other. Anyways, it was an interesting experience =p

This is the people with birthdays. The one on the left is the Chairman of the company.
